on the bone records – an update

well as it’s all about the updates round these parts.
you see that earlier posting about the debut releases from new upstart, on the bone records.
well more fool me.
you see, i, in all innocence, dropped the cd-r of the mother vulpine stuff into an old school cd player.
and lo that is where the stupidity reveals itself, as the machine advised cannot read disc, at no point did i think to myself, hey wiseass, drop this disc into your computer
you see, the disc has the 2 tracks as mp3s.
how very modern of the label indeed.
this has of course meant i have now no excuse to check out the music within.
thankfully, it’s pretty damn impressive, no scratch that, its fuckin’ impressive.
a lot more urgent and angry than a debut release has any right to be, with influences from usa based hardcore and the more in yer face aspects of alt.rock.
angry fuzzed up basslines do battle with the gut disturbing guitars in an almighty frenzy that somehow manages to maintain a strong sense of melody and excellence. with production duties being manned by one of yourcodenameis:milo this is sure to get onto the playlists of quite a few of the so called taste makers, and you know, for once, i can tell why.
a glorious racket, even when throttling the speakers on my computer as opposed to the proper stereo.
