i am fully aware that sometimes i seem to harp on about the same bands/labels over and over, but when the music is as perfect as contained within this package then i care not.
of course the legend that is the black dog cannot be denied, so when people are handed over the source material to be revised, the task must be rather daunting.
thankfully, these new mixes of tracks from the silenced album, add to the brilliance and don’t detract.
sudden intake is all up-tempo, shimmering and gorgeous in the way that people like orbital used to excel at, whereas, alt/return/dash/kill is given a heavy beat makeover, and more of those cutup derailleur spooky vocals, the hanging piano chord crash adds an air of sinister broodiness to the extended proceedings, and then to bring the ep to a close, vector lovers dust down their dirty analogue electro archives and drag the previously ambient machina machina out onto the dancefloors.
all of which proves the following equation to be more true now than ever before :
