new record label – on the bone records

no idea why or how this lot got my details, and to be honest, i’m not too sure why i’m posting this but more detail on that later.
as seems to be the way in leeds at the moment, new record labels are popping up everywhere.
so the chances are that on the bone records will begin to appear on lots of peoples radars soon.
currently there are 2 limited 7″ records on the way :
mother vulpinekeep your wits sharp (her words are quick)/for a friend you have a knife through your tongue
samsa – to conquer/another night
the press release seems to indicate that mother vulpine are getting a lot of proper attention, and so its probably only a matter of time before they get the usual nme treatment.
unfortunately i cant listen to the music as the cd-r has nothing on it.
unless thats all part of the labels cunning plan.
as for samsa, well, to conquer is pretty straight up, but still impressive old school indie rock (ie none of that post-punk styling), holding together with a fine melody that builds up nicely, before the layered guitars are let loose, whereas, another night is a slightly more restrained affair that could be the bands lighters ahoy moment during the gigs if ever they are given the chance to do the arena thing.
