1. the new album : songs of prey.
as mentioned previously, the new album is ace, and now available to all.
songs of prey is a rip roaring blast of yer typical scaramanga six bombastic fun filled chaos, that i have long given up trying to describe as they now have their own genre in my windoze media player : "whatthefuck".
despite some heavy grooves of late involving personnel changes (an ongoing back story of the band – giving the whole thing a spinal tap styled manner), heart attacks, shelved albums, and general difficulties in paying the parking fines, the band have put together an album is fast-n-furious mode, and i think such studio action has paid off as the results are often excellent, because despite a mid-section lull ( the 5 minute groom of the stool takes a while to hit home, meaning the listener has to be patient before the bonus points are handed out), the majority of the melodies are head strong, and the production perfectly in line with the bands demands for over the top intensity.
several of the songs by the fourth listen will have you grinning and singing along whether you want to or not (altogether now : "death by misadventure!!"), meaning that once again, i can stand tall, and shout :
" i love the scaramanga six"

3. the live session track : we rode the storm
at various times over the years, the band have decided to drop into a studio and perform their live set and record it for the archives. the results have been compiled and released for the four fans that have not been able to get to the gigs. (i.e : me).
the results were then sent out to radio stations in the hope that they would play these versions as ‘exclusive’ session tracks.
oh they are a cunning lot those wrath records people as the ploy seemed to work.
so with that in mind, here you are, an exclusive session track for ireallylovemusic of one of my faves, we rode the storm.
ho ho.
