clearly i wasn’t alone in my love for bens latest single, guinea pig.
while the original has been available for some time now and still impresses yours truly whenever it appears on the playlist, the excellent buzzin’ fly label have decided to release a couple of rather special remixes (or are they reworks, i get lost with all this terminology !) by dj koze, and m.a.n.d.y and smallboy.
dj koze takes the track back to its throbbing rhythmic minimalism and then over the case of 7 minutes builds it up again with delicately placed random digital noises supplementing the atmospherics, whereas m.a.n.d.y and smallboy goes for a more dancefloor focused groove that bounces in all the right places with melody heavy bleeps and woofer rumbling bass.
as seems to be the way with the label at the moment, this is another surefire ear pleaser of a release.
