well, after a few weeks of a slow meandering flow, all of a sudden the funk is on the up @ ireallylovemusic hq.
following yesterdays love session for the black ghost mixtape (which has subsequently made me revisit and enjoy the albums by digitalism, justice, and of course, simian mobile disco), i got lucky today when the diplo remix of recent single, repetition, appeared like some form of skull and crossbone’d up magick in my website inbox.
now, i know little of the track, but discogs seems to indicate that the falsetto vocals are actually by damon albarn, though no reference is made to this particular version.
the remix is a chunk of lo-tech twisted minimal electro-funk with vocals being cut to the mood enhancing synthetics.
two minutes in and the track builds up in a strange warped manner, making the results sound like some lost super_collider classic which has been recorded on a sunburned cassette.
