so there i am soaking up the double dee and steinski live set that’s available via his website for a mere $5 (new material, all in 320kbps = no brainer) and totally feeling the depth of the duos cut-n-paste groove, when an email drops in the relevant account advising that the man behind the first big uk cut-n-paste sample heavy hits, tim simenon, aka bomb the bass, is after a long long hiatus, stepping back into the game with a one off live performance at this years city showcase thats taking place at the london astoria, june 4th.
as well as bomb the bass, there will be a few extras to the line up such as mashup supremo, eddy temple morris, and a bunch of new up and coming folks.
thing is though, given the brilliance of the bomb the bass catalogue there really is no way anyone with an interest in the roots of diy homemade dance music should miss the very special occasion.
