cracking 12" in which london production duo u&e (as they are going to be known from now on) ruff up a little known funky track, stand on up, by jay stoner that came out on a little us based label a while back.
quite simply the track is a refreshing 6 minute slab of fat boy slim styled samples and easy summer vibes.
jazzy piano loops, sirens, horns, and a vocal sample about the joys of herbal cigarettes mean this is going to knock the festival soundsystems into action with you trying to work out just who the hell is soundtracking your perfect lazy sunday afternoon.
well, keep this blog post in mind, and you’ll be in a rarified position of knowledge.
so to complete the circle, jay stoner was given the chance to touch up an u&e track, mr palatino, into a tight thomas dolby sampling (oh yes, some of us do indeed recall the brilliant magics wand by whodini !) tina turner referencing dance floor groove, making this 12" a lot of fun and highly recommended.
oh, and just to give you a heads up, the guys are also behind a rather special david bowie re-edit, infamy, which gives the classic fame a proper going over, so keep an eye out for that.
