heard this on the radio the other day.
couldn’t believe that radio 2 was playing a wonderfully deep harmonious dubbed up reggae track which harked back to 70s dub style, so i hung on to the end to find out who/what/when.
turns out its, manu chao, and the track is a remix by 70s dub meister, dennis bovell.
which of course makes perfect sense.
the track, politik kill, is part of a soon to be released remix package featuring amongst others, the creator of one of 2007s best albums, prince fatty, so its gotta be worthy of a quick hunt at your local record shop come release date.
then a swift google reveals that the dennis bovell remix is currently available for free.
legally.
in other news, turns out that manu chao is part of the line up for one of the most interesting festivals this year, lovebox. but i’ll hopefully have more on that nearer the time all being well.
