you may have noticed my love for hip hop has dissipated somewhat in recent months, so imagine my surprise when i dropped this forthcoming release in the machine to find myself totally rocking to it, 3 times over.
starting off with a nice sample from ghost town by the specials, and ending with that laugh by vincent price.
harking back to his time with uk hip hop heroes demon boyz (who supposedly make the most noise), and having a massive radio friendly hook, making this a spot on slice of addictive beats and ragga rhymes.
flip the record, and there is an extra track, glimity glamity, consisting of a nice clipped guitar sample, and a funky old school dubby bassline, and even some long forgotten dj scratched up excellence you know that this is going to rock the parties.
basically, i’m loving this, and hope that this is the beginning of a revival @ ireallylovemusic hq for the groove, and if the album, spektrum, is as solid as these tasters, then damn i’m down with the man known as million dan.
in a word : brilliant.
