well, all you have to do is follow the link, read the story behind the 8 track release, then do the necessary clickety click trick and this fascinating project will be on your hard drive in all its 192kbps glory.
while the album is another of these will this raise my profile experiments, there are moments that the remixes take on a whole new life of their own and successfuly disconnect themselves from the whole radiohead groove.
quite an acheivement given that the magnitude of the bands source music.
15 stepz is totally vital with its chopped up guitars, threatening bassline, and unexpected sweet soul vocals provided by codany holiday, reckonerz (feat. charli2na) has lots of prefuse 73 styled jittery electro cutups, and faustz maintains the beauty of the original, but adds a whole new hip hop funk to the equation.
in all honesty, these remixes are probably going to get more spins @ ireallylovemusic hq than the source material, and prove for once that someone beyond the media friendly girl talk is doing something interesting when combining samples, guitar music structures and hip hop beats.
if only more official hip hop released was as interesting as this.
