clark – throttle promoter ep

just a quick tip off.
techno maestro chris clark, now with lacking a certain chris factor, recently released a limited 12″ teaser in the build up to the full release of album, turning dragon which is coming out in a few weeks.
the throttle promoter ep was special in that it was supposedly packaged in those old school purple warp sleeves that were once to be seen filling the racks of many a specialist dance shop racks.
anyway, i was lucky to be given the chance to hear a couple of the tracks off the 12″, dirty dixie, and see see, and if these are indicative of the mans current groove then the album is going to be very intense.
pounding acid flavoured techno with a hint of the darker elements of electronic body music kicks off dirty dixie making it one of those tracks to drop at the midnight hour when the sweat is pouring off the ceiling, the 4 minutes aren’t subtle in the slightest, but damn it’s good, as is the spacious reverb that permeates the opening of see see.
the widescreen ambience is quickly cut to make way for thin and crispy drums and a tinnitus inducing electro riff that would give justice a run for their money.
glorious.
so, if you happen to spot this 12″ then i’d totally recommend it for anyone interested in blistering technology music, if not then there is the option to by the music via the newly relaunched warpmart site and get a special deal on the album thrown in for the ride.
