brian wilson ? on ireallylovemusic !
well yes it is a little strange, but i have my reasons for this is no ordinary brian wilson track.
you see a few years ago before fopp records (rip) moved into bristol and effectively closed down all the independent record shops i would be able to fill my hours perusing the dirty bins full of forgotten gems and unknown promos.
during this glorious period one shop put out a 2 cd promo copy of the freeform five misch masch mix/remix set.
not having been aware of their electro-pop groove but impressed by the lineup of the mix i picked it up only to realise i had backed a winner.
later on i found that the promo version had on it a remix that was omitted from the final release, probably due to clearance issues.
a real shame as the sublime vocal layers of the old beach boy himself, the delicious subtle analogue throbs of the freeform five gang, result in a perfect slice of electronic downtempo beauty.
so, without further ado, let’s release the gem to the wire
