“maxïmo park, who just scored their first top 10 single with our velocity, have also announced two more special appearances in london this week. on wednesday (4th april) they are at hmv oxford street for an in store performance and signing session, then on thursday (5th april) the band sign copies of our earthly pleasures at pure groove records, who incidentally paid for the band to record their first demos in 2004.

hmv, 150 oxford street, london w1: showtime starts at 6.00 pm, after which the band will remain in the store to meet fans and sign copies of the new album.

as with the debut, i’m still working on the new album (the debut took quite a few listens before the excellence revealed itself), all the ingredients are the same, but there seems to be a greater punch in the songs.

i’m sure that by the end of the year i’ll be declaring it one of my faves.
