having been a member of varius other bands, person came about when miguel lacsamana decided to make pop music. not your usual run of the mill pop music, but futuristic twitching electro pop music that makes your head spin while recalling the neo-dance grooves of justin and his sound shaper friends nerd.
prior to the full length album, entitled, comes a fantastically bright red limited 12″ single that lifts possibly the best 2 album tracks and hands them over to some friends to work their magic on.
first up alex xxxchange, from smut-meisters spank rock, have a crack at the album closing track, business class. a wonderful slice of catchy hook filled synths and an air of regret make the normal track wonderful, and to be honest, as i’m not a fan of the booty fixated electro beats of hipster pleasing spank rock i was a litle concerned about their name on the record (they make great sounding records – but the lyrics just make me hit the stop button), however, for this remix they have actually turned away from their hormonal sex obsession, and created a more delicate bubbling electro foundation, giving the track an almost william orbit style, with the result being very special.
the other remix is by none other than ireallylovemusic fave outputmessage who in my book can do no wrong, remixes pharisse pride into a whole new compulsive shape, making the 12″ a vital addition to any collector of forward thinking electro pop music.
excellent to listen to, better to dance to, though being honest, i will probably just spend most of my time looking at the red vinyl.
