people are either going to really hate this record or just fall in love with it.
man in demand, uber producer mark ronson, has taken a smiths classic and given it a gnarls barkley styled future-retro soul make over. horns, strings and an under current slice of beats for the modern dancefloors will propel this to the top of the charts without a doubt, and most wont have even have heard the original, and nor will they really care.
the remixes from house duo chicken lips, and dirty south, extend the experience for the dancefloor, but cleans the track of any originality and are purely functional as opposed to special.
stick to the classy and very fine ‘original’ version.
this release along with marks recent mangling of toxic make me want to hear the forthcoming versions album all the more.
