you see it’s that little extra fact that does it in for me.
while dj kentaros skills cannot be disputed, this single is the mans first real entry into self productions following his ninjatune label skills showcase mixtape recently, following which ninjatune have obviously played with the idea of giving the man time on their own packed release schedule.
the track is a modern slice of juddering old school beats, string samples, and video sound effects all spliced together by some modern crunk styled noises.
however, the lyrics re shake that nasty body and hands in the air by the media faves spank rock just make me go cold.
of course there are a chunk of remixes (armani xxxchange/bodyshake remix/instrumental (hurray !)) that will have the relevant people spinning on their hard floors, especially as all, apart from me, are loving these squelchy nasty synth noises that are dominating beats in 2007.
so, while this is a fine slice of sonic action, i ask the right to hold judgement until i hear more as to whether dj kentaro should keep his skills to spinning, as opposed to behind the desk productions.
