now that emi are in line for some sort of takeover, and under attack from the download community, its only right that they scour their vast archives and getting some of the more obscuer back out there either on the racks, or legit downloads. with this in mind, they have relaunched the weird-n-wonderful zonophone imprint.
so, seeing as the label originally released one of the best on-u sound albums (lee scratch perry and the dub syndicate, time boom de devil dead in case you were wondering), i feel duty bound to pass on the news as and when it becomes available.
so far in the pile, i have a noise filled punk compilation, happening, alive and nasty, sweet soul-n-country vibes by bobby gentry, and the best of the bunch so far, the old school rock-n-soul grooves of mitch ryder and the detroit wheels.
