just when i thought i was over 80s electropop, this drops into the virtual mailbox, and you know what, it’s a proper little corker with a dark-n-moody vibe that then kicks into a fine chorus and those all important linn drum styled handclaps.
in 2011 there are several obvious reference points (the band have probably listened to the fischerspooner albums more than most), but when anyone starts fucking around with the vocals a la martin ‘sigue sigue sputnik’ degville, then you just know i’m on board for more.
of course, this is all early days, but clearly there is potential from the off, and even if all the dreams of pop world domination come crashing down, one cracking song is all you need to make your mark on the ireallylovemusic playlist.
