following on from the recent update that the world of pama international is coming to an end (more detail : here) , it’s great that the gang have handed over the tapes from the last album, outernational, to dubmesiter extraordinaire, mad professor, and given him carte blanche to do as he pleases with the music.
naturally, given the history involved, the results are truly fantastic making one wish that more bands would hand over their tapes to people such as mad professor & wrongtom.
i mean look how much love the recent wrongtom/roots manuva album, duppy writer, got from the ‘proper’ press.
so spread across 11 dubtastically named tracks the listener is treated to ear pleasing melodic dubbed up beauty during which previously hidden musical motifs are brought to the fore with a splattering of echo and reverb, bass lines are driven heavy, and the album hits aural pleasure spots with a much needed relaxed laid back late night smoky vibe.
in a word : perfect.
