my current pile looks rather nice for a change :
bonobo featuring andreya triana – eyes down
second single from forthcoming album, black sands.
remixes by floating points, warrior 1 and appleblim & komonazmuk adding various flavours to the proceedings, however, it's the album version that keeps being returned to the playlist.
as per the first single, the keeper, the mood is very smooth, mellow, and will be perfect for when the sun eventually does clear out the greyness.

the black dog – music for real airports
don't these guys ever have a break ?Â
following hot on the heels of last years excellent further vexations, which itself followed on quickly from radio scarecrow, comes this updated retake on brian enos supposed classic, music for airports. can't tell you too much about it, as i've not yet had much time with the album, but it's quite clear that this is one for the heads not the feet, and sounds gorgeous.
but that should not come as a surprise to anyone who has been keeping up with the northern electronic soul maestros.

lou rhodes – one good thingÂ
new release on the new motion audio label, launched by the cinematic orchestra crew.
summary : an album of open heart surgery with acoustic guitar, lous vocals, and subtle orchestrations. one for the soul, not the feet.
