cornbury festival 2009 : july 11th and 12th

a few years ago the ireallylovemusic clan were fortunate enough to partake in the oxfordshire based festival a few years back.

while the line up wasn’t particularly of interest (robert plant doing his led zeppelin crowd pleasing gubbins, and deacon blue), the experience was very pleasant.

so much so, that when i heard that there is a chance that the festival allows me and mine back in this year i was rather keen.

again the line up isn’t the most hip and current, but for a relaxed radio 2 family friendly outing, this one is a cracking example of how to do a festival.

the line up includes :

scouting for girls, the damned, sharleen spiteri, teddy thompson, magic numbers, shortwave set, dodgy, i am kloot, the boy least likely to,  sugababes, the pretenders, mary coughlan, eddi reader imelda may

clearly for me, the real pull is to check out the new material by the boy least likely to, and jump around to the classics by the damned, but i’m sure i would end up singing along to the texas hits (c’mon, you just know that sharleen is going to pop a couple of those in her set), as walking between the various stages is a mere few minutes as opposed to the 3 mile hike at some of the larger set ups.

for the weekend ticket the cost is £90 for adults, £45 for under 16s, and there is a chance that if you are quick, and you have kids aged 12 and under, they may get in free.
