it’s not that often i go back to the ireallylovemusic archives and find an album that i gushed over and rediscover the album all over again.
however, due to my recent melodic records revival session, that’s exactly what has happened today.
pedros debut album from 2003 still stands up as an absolute classic when it comes to the combination of old and new music.
in the five years since this album was released i have gone through many phases, meaning this album has been left untouched and unloved.
today however, it felt like revisiting a long lost friend.
so, as a treat i have dug out one of the albums remixes that were released on a limited edition cd that included such people as prefuse 73, cherrystones, and four tet.
for me, the best remix was this this twanged up, hip hop heavy variation by psych rock lover, cherrystones.
while a long way removed from the original source material, the results were brilliant.
