as per the review earlier this week, i like these guys.
they make music that makes my heart feel all fuzzy and warm.
to celebrate the fact that the album is now available in the states, a recent b-side is being released to the wire for free.
as anyone who has seem the band live can confirm, they love to cover cheesy/classic * pop songs and turn them into something else.
so, here’s the latest slice of indie-pop brilliance, a cover of the ultimate girl-boy faceoff from the 70s soundtrack for grease.
i realise that this is doing the rounds and has been given space over on pitchfork, but hey, there could be a couple of you that don’t check that particular corner of the web, so i’m doing my bit.
despite having a natural aversion to the original (overplayed at time of release due to purchase of the original cassette when the film was released, but that could be a a case of too much knowledge), i can’t help but sing along. a little.
enjoy.
