the ninth release, first one by jens loden on fine art recordings is revisited and given the remix treatment for the labels thirteenth release.
takes some keeping track of this underground techno world sometimes doesn’t it.
anyway, for this release 2 remixes are up for grabs.
firstly there is orlando voorn adding a drawn out groove on the zombies disko remix, in which the atmospherics are spaced out, monochromatic, and somewhat gloomy, but over the 6 minutes becomes rather addictive in its 70s john carpenter soundtrack way.
then there is the mikael stavîstrand remix which is a more cluttered affair, splicing a cut up distorted vocal sample throughout the stripped back percussive treat. after four minutes, thankfully, things mutate slightly, and a throbbing acid line comes in raising the level of interest, but i can’t help but feel the track is not a bloodrush pounder to drop when the floors a pumping, more of a dj tool track to build up tension.
next up, is the labels fourteenth release, and on that one, things really become interesting, stay tuned for more information.
