remember my declaration of love for the small but perfectly formed fine art recordings label a few weeks ago ?
well, it seems that the sister label, (described as ‘downtempo’ by people in the know), mvsica, is now good to go,.
the first sounds that will get the mvsica seal of approval are now online @ the labels myspace for all to hear.
i for one, am rather excited given that frabrice lig provided a brilliant slab of pounding paranoid techno for the faith is fear album on dust science.
admittedly, the mood for cosmic booty is of a different kind, but the use of bleeps, mellow 70s soul keyboard lines (the organ line @ 4 mins = "oooooh nice") and a general smoothness (albeit via a very techno based form), makes my hopes and expectations for mvsica and their release schedule in 2009 rather high.
