yes it’s that track, again.
having provided a backdrop to many of the prodigys setlists over the years, not to mention the future sound of londons documented use, well loved breakbeat dj lee coombs has taken this stone classic early rave dub monster by the jazz loving industrial dub man machine that is meat beat manifesto, and twisted it into a shiny new shape for the nu-electro indie-dance crowd.
while the remix holds onto several of the more recognisable elements of the original, i have to say, the lack of that big fucked up dub up bassline underpinning the tracks foundations, is rather missing the point of just what made the song such a huge dancefloor monster.
the remix was originally crafted for lees own sets, and not intended for general consumption, but due to demand from his fellow djs and it has become a huge crowd pleaser in recent times, he has decided to let the beast loose.
so, despite my minor reservation, there is no denying the fact that lee has crafted a fine slab of pumped dirty electro breakbeat production to the track.
hear it for yourself.
