been a while, but once again the qwerty world beckons.
having been offline for over a week is a wonderfully refreshing experience and something i wish i could do more often as the desire to dive into the current pile is as . as it is, there are a couple of details that need immediate attention.
firstly, the this is nowhere site i mentioned recently has been rebranded as the quietus, so the appropiate blogroll link has been updated.
the articles posted so far are evidence that the site will become an essential daily fix, providing a wonderful alternative to the
oh, and naturally, ireallylovemusic approves of the temporary design of the site wholeheartedly.
also, you may be aware that i rarely partake in the live experience these days due to work/parenting/laziness* reasons.
however tonight provides one of those rare opportunites.
flykkiller are in town (bristol/louisiana), and given that the album is still getting regular spins i’m rather keen to see how the gang perform in the flesh.
also, have i told you how great the forthcoming flykkiller single, shine out shine out, is ?

well it is.
the album track has been given a makeover for the release and is a lot more focussed and electro’d up, with the results coming on strong like some genetic mutation of blondie and garbage.
which is all well and good, but the real meat is in the edison remix.
10 minutes of pulsating dancefloor epicness that twists and turns through various styles from throbbing minimal techno, to full on late 80s rave, with each section increasing the intensity and wow factor.
one of the best remixes of the year ?
definitely.
