i hate the uk postal system.
yesterday i get an email chasing for my opinion on a single i should have received by a new band called rochelle.
i causally respond advising that its not in pile.
then a link to the video makes me angry.
why is it the good stuff goes missing en route.
of course they go ‘missing’, and not into the ebay destined stash of some dodgy sorting office, i mean that’s not the case now is it?
after all, when i have previously filled the forms in re ‘missing’ items, the post office after a length investigation into the matter, assured me that everything was perfectly fine and nothing is wrong within the system so that’s that then.
i suspect all the singer-songwriter gumph that does little for me makes it to ireallylovemusic hq without any problems, but when it comes to a cracking slice of electro pop then goodbye happy grooves, hello empty doormat.
however, to recompense here’s the video.
the band are from leeds proving that it’s not all indie guitars and punk funk in my old home town.
not only that, but they want to be hugely popular, thereby shunning the normal self imposed status of cooler than thou that a lot of bands like to project.
glorious.
oh, and as i’m sure you’ll find out, there isn’t a rochelle in the band so don’t ask.
the video is very shiny and gloss rich, sharing with the viewer a vision of a future world where emotionless workers are numbed by a dreary process driven virtual hell, but fear not, rochelle are here to save the day, as in the last half, its all about the euphoric release of the rave naturally soundtracked by the band giving it their eyelinered all.
you get the point easily i’m sure.
thankfully the song is rather wonderful.
lets just hope that this is not a one-off slice of electro brilliance.
