thedeathset – worldwide

what a mess of an album – 18 tracks : 25 minutes.
a young duo who seemed to have found love with the brash combination of cheesey synths, fast-n-furious tacky drum machines and fuzzed up guitars.
makes the go! team sound like pink floyd in regards to the production values.
first few listens brought back memories of some dayglo 7″ on moshi moshi by best fwends, so i guess it should have come as no surprise when a little digging revealed a connection between the 2 set ups.
while the album never hangs about there are many reasons as to why i found myself laughing along.
admittedly i’m not so sure that’s the expected response, but when the chorus of its the mutha fuggin deathset is ripped into in a hormonal school yard hyper fashion rage during the bleep-tastic intermission, then its hard to take this vice magazine shit seriously.
amazingly this blast of lo-fi chaos has found its way onto the release schedule via those good people over @ counter records.
so that means you can all go out and experience the joy.
