the ruby suns – tane mahuta

just a sneaky peak into the second album from the ruby suns, who despite being on the other side of the planet have managed to make friends with the ever lovely memphis industries record label.
being honest, the bands debut never really hit home @ ireallylovemusic hq, but given that the majority was an updated homage to all things brian wilson then i would suggest that this is not that big of a surprise.
however, for the follow up, sea lion, the band have delved into musics far more interesting and evolved, making things far more fun, incorporating traditional new zealand instruments and genres blended with some of the most lovely indie pop melodies.
this particular slice of happy clappy indie pop posted gives me the same shivers up the spine effect as 2004/2005 heros, clap your hands and say yeah! which is always going to make me swoon with joy.
the album is out in a few weeks.
hopefully this bonus addition to the season, will make the sun shine that little bit more during the easter hollidays.
cos as all uk’ers know, we bloody well need something to help us out.
