many years ago i received a strange cd-r from those fine people at brainlove records with the declaration that said artist, bishi, was going to be a star one day.
unfortunately the ep wasn’t the greatest introduction to the girls talents, all messy production, and not that much fun to listen to so i thought nothing more of it.
then in recent months, the name bishi started appearing all over the place. looks like the girl has worked hard and not just sulked away in a corner.
fashion shoots for glossy mags, a full length album on its way, and even a remix by a genuine 80s hero, means that her face aswell as her music is getting the attention it obviously deserves.
combining a catchy pop hook as big as they come, the track posted has been beefed up by adamski, sorry, adam sky, with a harder and heavier electronic thump for the dancefloor action, yet the song still retains the same instant bhangra club pop appeal that will keep you awake long into the night.
basically, if mia or rhianna was the name on the records cover the press would be all over this like a rash and sales would be world conquering.
who knows, john @ brainlove could indeed be proven to be on the button all those years ago after all.
