i for one, am chuffed about the return of kylie that’s been announced for later this year.
the woman, is a proper pop star who works the system perfectly, and manages to make music with all the right people. personally i thought the body language album was a perfect slice of bleep infested electronic music, made all the more impressive by the way that each single lifted was given a remix by some cooler than thou name of the day.
so say hello to the charts : alter ego, tom middleton, riton and for this track, old regal label hopefuls, medicine8, whose own iron stylings album foresaw the revival of the dirty electro sound but due to bad timing, meant that they were too ahead of the curve and so missed out on all the media loving.
so, for this remix, they strip away the pop layers and leave little other than a disconnected vocal loop of sighs, and the phrase body language repeated over a wonderful slice of pulsating machine noise.
hopefully, the new stuff will be as compelling and not revert back to treadmill pop music, though the fact that calvin harris is behind a few tracks makes me hope she still has her eye on the electro groove as ever only time will tell.
