while the news is fit to burst with all the usual names for the festival season, i recently received word on a new name out there :
lodestar festival, (31st august-2 september, lode, cambridgeshire)
which despite being a new name, has teamed up with bbc 6 music to help spread the word.
the lineup is pretty indie-centric, but i suspect thats all part of the plan.
so far things are looking mighty interesting :
alberta cross / afterview / architecture in helsinki / badly drawn boy / bristish sea power / drive by argument / envelopes / foals / friendly fires / ghosts / good shoes / hush the many (heed the few) / iliketrains / idlewild / i was a cub scout / luke toms / mammut / maps / mumm – ra / my architects / palladium / polytechnic / terra naomi / the all new adventures of us / the answering machine / the bees / the hot puppies / the humble / the little ones / the pigeon detectives / the rakes / the shadow project / the strange death of liberal england / the teenagers / the whip / the wombats / tilly and the wall / we are performance / we start fires / winter kids
if ireallylovemusic were based a litte closer to this, i would think that this would be a cracking event to check out, especially more so, considering several local charities are to benefit from the festival proceeds.
