well up until recently, the finnish set up known as pepe deluxe were something of an undiscovered entity. however, over the last few months certain well informed people have been constantly hammering the fact that the bands forthcoming album, space time machine, is going to be one the years best.
naturally, i ignored this advise and thought nothing more of it. until i heard the single, mischief of cloud six, on the radio. a mad few minutes of 60 psyche, doo wop, wah wah, and generally brilliant off the wall pop music.
now, it appears as though there are quite a few people out there helping to spread word on the band, as currently there is a special offer via aol, to download their last album, for free ! in full 192 bit rate !
not only that, but the band have also uploaded a fine mixtape that puts together a few tracks from the new album, a couple of previously unreleased mashups, and a chunk of eccentricity that shows just how diverse and wonderful the bands current groove is.
have to say, its a great way to kill 58 minutes – totally recommended.
