a few years ago i used to get these rather mysterious emails from the brilliantly named bud longtooth.
his emails were written in a code i could rarely crack implying the man was either a mad scientist genius, or rather fond of strong herbal cigarettes. anyway, i later received a 2 track cd-r that at the time made me smile, but was a little too d-n-b based for regular listening.
weird then that today when digging around in the archive and i chance upon the cd-r, and given that the last few days i have been all about the ambient mood, it was wonderfully refreshing to hear those Sputnik-styled synths, sirens, cockerels, manic over the top guitars, phased fucked up vocals, and cheap-n-nasty drum machines once more.
a little digging in the web archives reveals that actually the man and his partner in sonic crime, jez q, used to be a set up called section 47 who made blistering full on drum-n-bass with scary artwork makes me wonder about the mans sanity. however, if bud_ ever gets access to a studio (home or professional !) again, i would love to hear the results. of the 2 versions that were on the cd-r, i have to say the basic song orientated version (bud_ mix) is the one that i have hammered today, so i’ve decided to share and spread the word.
