f*ck myspace

a non-music rant for once, well sort of.
i hate myspace.
i mean really really hate myspace.
the idea is brilliant, the knock on effect for bands and people making music has been beautiful, and yes it does as required, and even helped me communicate with all manner of fine music makers as it has become the defacto choice for all.
but come on, it’s an absolute arse to use, the whole interface looks nasty and its just too damn unpleasant to use.
so, when this morning i came across a news article re columbia records are no longer accepting demo cds and urging people to join up to their vox blog site and submit music via this new route i became intrigued.
so, despite not having any desire to submit any music i plugged in and got myself registered.
and blow me, it’s rather nice.
of course, the whole thing will die a slow death if the right sort of folks don’t sign up, but hey, i’m going to start posting my gubbins over there as well (you can submit basic non-html posts via email – an essential option in the modern world i think), so without further ado, please let me introduce you to the new kid on the block : http://ireallylovemusic.vox.com
fear not, this is the main blog, but if you fancy becoming a friendly neighbour and want to communicate etc then by all means do the obvious thing ..
onwards
