after a lot of love from various online set ups, swedish pop princess part 56 finally releases her single konichiwa bitches today (26 march 2007) via her own newly set up label called, of course, konichiwa records.
having been through the major label machine in her teens, with her previous r-n-b polished pop releases from a few years ago, it’s quite something hearing such a new fresh direction with its saucy wordplay, sharp haricut, and cutting edge jittery electro.
the song is a cracker, especially with the bouncing bass that needs proper stereo systems to get the total benefit from (so those pc speakers at the office aint going to do the track justice !).
alongside the normal version, there are several remixes, menta, adds a strange broken 80s synth noise before dropping into a darker brand of trance styled noise, whereas minimal techno producer of the moment, trentmoller, gives it the epic makeover. twang guitars and dance grooves never had so much hip shaking swagger, making this the definitive version of track down. finally, oscar the punk ups the tempo and tension, before introducing orbital old school bleeps for the more straightforward acid house four-to-the-floor electro-dance version.
good stuff.
