sarah nixey – single concert album

watcha.
steppin’ out of my current prince loop, there are a few things stirring in the world of sarah nixey that i need to tell u about.
first up, the website has had a makeover, and fits in with the themed single artwork, so therefore, it looks great.
after all, you can never have too much red darling.
the site can be found : here
then there is the small matter of the album, sing, memory that’s due out within the next few weeks.
seems like others are enjoying it, which is good, as sometimes i think i am alone with these things.
to whet your appetite, i reckon it is a great album for when you want some melodrama and electronic music, and one that will thrill people of all walks of life ie cool pop kids, dancefloor junkies, electro hipsters and your mum.
naturally, a more thorough  review to be sorted out as soon as i get my ass into gear.
but, and this is a big but, before that happens, is sarahs live appearance at the luminaire just before valentines day along with a dj set from the album producer/label boss, infantjoy.
game on.
more detail : here
and finally, there is the single itself. the sublime lazy sunday afternoon electro pulsations of when i’m here with you is now available via itunes along with a chunk of remixes of previous single strangelove that have been knocking the disco glitterball shakers out for 6 by all accounts.
the remixes by such names as lodge, magnus project and peter davis (again) pump up the various components into new dazzling shapes, so between the versions we get a chunk of electronic trance, a slab of hands in the air euphoria, vocoderised vocals, broken distorted beats and all manner of madonna styled glammed up disco brilliance.
again, these remixes are currently only being aired across specially selected venues of choice, and possibly, itunes.
can you handle so much excellence from one record label, only one way to find out : service av
stay tuned
