never been sure about swedish pop duo the knife.
their brand of twisted mutant electro is somewhat uncomfortable listening at times, yet despite this i often find myself drawn to their leftfield pop music.
new single, marble house, is being given an almighty remix makeover with some of the best names in electro out there. rex the dog adds his sparkling disco grooves to the proceedings, bookashade heads for the minimal mood, and planning to rock rebel against their moniker and do the ambient thing, but the real killer version is by emperor machine who take the track and strap on some elongated spaced out grooves that even pink floyd fans would be proud to have in their collection. the edit version is a massive 9 minutes, so i dread to think just how long the full length version is.
to go alongside the single, the silent shout album is getting the re-release treatment, and to entice your money once again, there are 2 (yes 2!) extra discs that are to be added to the normal album.
one is a live cd, and the other a live dvd.
apparently, the band are quite chuffed about their live show, and so are obviously wanting us all to see their achievements.
the single is out on the 19th february, but prior to all that, you are more than welcome to watch the video : here
