hell.o.
due to concerns over the ireallylovemusic bandwidth allowance (something i never ever expected for a text only website that only a couple of years ago was archived on a single floppy disc) i am going to point you, dear reader, to some external mp3s to pass away a few minutes with.
first up – mothboy. the man known as mothboy, simon, has been making unusual machine noises for a while now, (including remixes for akira the don) as well as writing stuff for playlouder. his debut album was a dark intense listen that impressed but didn’t want to become my friend. however, the new album deviance, from the examples on offer, seems to indicate a change in direction.
slightly.
the beats are still as dark as a sisters of mercy tshirt, and the production claustrophobic, but with a more accessible edge than previous sonic experiments.

secondly, a post rock band called 65daysofstatic. who have actually worked with mothboy.
if you ever listen to epic post rock and think, damn, i wish they would add a few electronic elements to the wall of sound, or you listen to electronic music and think damn i wish the band would add some guitar noise, then the well 65daysofstatic could be the answer to your prayers. juddering laptop beats, and grinding guitar laters collide with sometimes dramatic results.
not sure about the band glueing together all those words to make the name of the band however.
2 tracks on offer : welcome to the times : drove through ghosts to get there
