ireallylovemusic vs the guardian

yesterday, this happened : ireallylovemusic vs the guardian

now, last time anything like this happened to ireallylovemusic, my world changed dramatically.

following a nice little write up in freebie indie mag, the fly back in the early 00s, i was contacted by all manner of cool uk based labels (hello moshi moshi, memphis industries, ninja tune, warp and melodic) who showered me with cds and treats, i ended up on promo lists for major record labels, got into concerts/festivals for a mere few words of love, and the demands on my listening time went through the roof.
which being truthful was not always as beneficial as it sounds!
however, that was before the world of blogger, wordpress, tumblr et al turned everyone into an online music critic.

that was before the music industry called it quits with promo cds, and starting using digital distribution.

that was before a home made mp3 posted on soundcloud or bandcamp became the equivalent of pressing up a few hundred 7" singles.

that was before my adult like become a lot more serious.
i suspect beyond increasing my twitter crew by 10%, and a few hopeful emails, i very much doubt the spotlight will have anywhere near as much of an impact.

still, it's quite a thrill buzz for someone like me.

so, if you have just found this little corner of the web :  hello, you are most welcome.
