jon savage, the smiths, and the riots

i realise its on the record that i have never been a big fan of the smiths, but even i have to acknowledge the band were special, and somewhat important in the scheme of things.

not only that, but the queen is dead is one mutha of a song.

so, when jon savage puts pen to paper that brilliantly surmises my own thoughts and fears about the events of last week by linking the situation to the reasons behind the creation of said track, then you know it has to be worthy of a read.
