well after last weeks dip into the style and class of early 60s orchestra and jazz vocals, this week i have jumped into the world of psych pop.
at this rate i’ll be discovering dubstep by crimbo.
of course, the entry point for anyone wanting a quick dip into the world of 60s psychedelic pop is the excellent nuggets collection compiled back in the early 70s by lenny kaye, that has been beautifully reissued and made easily available from any decent shop for a pocket money friendly amount.
now, i’ll be the first to admit that beyond the basics i am a complete novice when it comes to phased guitars, backwards sitars, fuzztones, and 3 minute pop brilliance, especially as it can’t be denied that a lot of the music is a direct result of the big hits by the sodding beatles.
still, that doesn’t mean when i come across something that hits the spot i can’t spread the love (maaan).
without further ado, here’s a track that is hidden away on a rather wonderful nuggets companion compilation, my mind goes high, for the simple fact is that every time it drops on the playlist my head goes : ‘oooooh, i need more like that !’.

no idea as to the bands story, all i know is that i love love love this.
