now that pama international are an established force in the festival season, both nationally and internationally, and have a sizeable back catalogue of excellence, it’s only right that the band use their own label, rockers revolt, to reissue their early albums, pama international, and too many freaks not enough stages, to provide newcomers with a chance to catch up.

alongside the bands combination of 60s soul revue groove, 70s reggae-n-ska (with touches of lovers rock and dub of course), and the odd cover version (sly and family stone !), there are extra dub versions and demos to lure in the punters.

despite the fact they were released back in 2002, both albums contain tracks that still feature in the bands live shows, and were predominantly produced by drummer extraordinaire, fuzz townsend.

of course, seeing as these were recorded during the bands infancy there are some aspects that now sound somewhat dated, for example the use of a scratch dj on the debut sounds very much out of place now, but small niggles aside, these reissues are a very welcome addition to the pama international story.

so, as a way to celebrate the reissues, here is a special treat from 2006s trojan sessions album which is currently out of print, and somewhat hard to track down.
