wool recordings

well, this hasn't happened in a long long time, but after a day of rediscovery and enjoyment of new (but old) music, out of the blue i get an email from a small but perfectly formed french record label called wool recordings.

nothing exciting there perhaps.

the reason for the pick me up was that for once i clicked on the links and found myself loosing an hour of the day as i streamed and re-streamed the samples on offer.

hit the link, and find out if like me you succumb to the psych pop gorgeousness of franklin, or the jaw dropping brilliance of halb sirp by collage  featuring harmonised vocals from a bygone era and a jazzed up sax line. i even loved the pure but simple acoustic vibes of sarabeth tucek.

the latest album to get the labels seal of approval is pineapple dream by double u, and to prove that others are following the flock, the band are joined by laetitia from stereolab on the opening track.

i'll tell you more about that once i get up to speed.
