new album by mick jones (the clash, the various flavours of big audio dynamite) and tony james (sigue sigue sputnik, oh, and generation x) released at the time of writing this 43 minutes ago.

oh, and it’s for free.

legally.

a quick scan through reveals a love for big sing-a-long choruses, and bigger guitars than you’d expect are the order of the day.

glam guitars, punk, and straight for the jugular melodies – a compelling mixture.

originality may be lacking in parts, and as always micks vocals are still in that love’em or hate’em league (my collection of big audio dynamite records should indicate which side of the fence i’m on), but the passion for big old rock-n-roll certainly isn’t fading.

quite simply, despite its low profile status (i guess there were problems following the band trying out the proper record label game with their previous album hence the “going back to our mpfreeeeee roots”), this is a cracking record.

well worth the click-n-go.
