5. hello [tranquility bass rmx]
as hinted at a while ago, james banbury (infantjoy, the auteurs, and boss of serviceav records etc) has teamed up with pete davis to make music to dance and smile to.
while the original is a cracking throbbing beast of beats and bleeps that build and guilds nicely, the revised version, hello dust, has gorgeous added extra vocals by hannah robinson making the track a perfect laid back sunrise anthem.
as part of the release there are a couple of remixes.
freelance hellraiser has stepped in and drawn out the groove for a massive 11 minute workout with a bigger bass line presence, and added go-go beats making this my current go-to track.
then there is håkan lidbo (new name on the block making friends with depeche mode amongst others) adding space and drama to the electronics, along with pushing the all important juddering moroder-esque bass to the fore.
and, finally, old trip hop/mo-wax associate tranquility bass comes out of semi-retirement and provides the strangest of the mixes as it takes away the core melody and primarily focuses on the clickety-click beats.
but hey, rather than me rattling on you can hear this stuff for yourselves via various online gadgets.
so here is my pick of the bunch, the freelance hellraiser version via soundcloud :
