manoo and francois a – today is tomorrow ep

apologies for the lateness in picking up on this 12" (it came out sometime in may), but if you move sharpish then hopefully you wont have missed out, as this another surefire winner from one of my current fave labels, buzzin’ fly.

the lead track by the french duo known as manoo and francois a, today is tomorrow, is a pumped up c2 styled epic techno-house monster that starts off with a simple but effective synthetic throb, which then over the course of its 9 minutes builds and builds.

extra layers, melodies and atmospherics get dropped in, adding pleasure inducers to the production and in the process providing more listening enjoyment as the tracks foundation morphs into something else entirely, prior to the the stripped back closing section.

flip the record, and you are provided with a souvenir, a relatively straightforward take on the deep house groove, but one that still manages to sooth and move in all the right places. none more so than when the jazz piano and orchestral string stabs are brought in, giving the track plenty of those all too welcome "oooooh that’s really nice" moments.

summary : both tracks are absolutely brilliant.
