goodness me, it seems like a long long time since i was listening to the ingo star cruiser album and dreaming of his top of the pops appearance with king of woolworths, but here he (i.e pete bellchamber aka ingo star cruiser) is remixing the new single by one of his current passions, the late greats.
while the original is a relatively straightforward blast of jerky indie guitar noise that didn’t really sit too well on the ireallylovemusic soundsystem, but is clearly getting love from all the right places, the remix is a far more subtle affair.
stripping back the strutting guitars, and instead propelling the melody through delicate lo-fi keyboard lines and low volume drum machines the songs’ structure is upheld resulting in a rather wonderful 3 minute pop song.
